Family Talents

I'm always impressed with cool boy moms and how they make their interests the same as their sons. My Aunt in Oklahoma has 3 boys and all the boys and her husband love to go "off road". Above is a picture of HER, huh! The boys are some of the best in the country. In 2004, my cousin Brad won the Top Truck Challenge, their pictures often appear in magazines. The above picture of my Aunt was in Crawl Magazine.

This is my Uncle and he writes for It's a Christian 4x4 website, his name is David Austin. Check it out sometime. Who knows what the Banner boys will be into? You might see me driving a jeep someday. :)

This weekend Dwain and I went with the SBU Men's Basketball team to Utah. I'm not going to lie to you, I went to see Brittany, and the basketball game was a bonus. :) Stan, Brittany's husband, is an assistant at the University of Utah and he helped to schedule the game between SBU and Utah. It was so fun seeing where they live and Salt Lake City is beautiful. Brittany is pregant and due in February. SBU won the game!!! It was Jeff's 300th win, congrats! The Mozleys live in Wyoming and they met us there to watch the game. The funniest thing is that the Salt Lake City headline was "Cupcake Too Much for Utes to Swallow" so Jeff kept teasing his team about being "cupcakes."

Papa's Motorcycle

Papa's always teasing us about having a wimpy scooter, so we compared the 2 side-by-side and, well... he's right.

Field Trip to Discovery Center

Deacon had a field trip to the Discovery Center in Springfield. I had a group of 5 boys to keep up with :). Their favorite exhibit was the maggot one, showing dead things being eaten by maggots. I love being a boy mom!

Watch Party

We had an election watch party on Tuesday night and had a lot of fun! We had games, food, and FoxNews!

Puppy Love

My dad is always bugging us about having a dog for the boys..."every boy needs a dog." So we bought a Golden Retriever and named her Maggie. We'll see how it goes. :)

Maverick & Goose

My sister's boys love Top Gun (clean version, don't panic) and they wanted to dress up for Halloween as Maverick and Goose. I thought this was adorable and wanted to share. Notice their dog tags and even the mustache on Goose! The boys are ages 4 and 5.

Happy Halloween

We had so many fun visitors... a go-go girl, Charlie Brown, McCain & Palin, Ceasers' Salad, Kansas cheerleader, and many more. The most surprising visitors... a rough, motorcycle couple, my parents! The boys enjoyed handing out candy to everyone with the attached message my sister wrote.
“Our gift to you, a special treat.
Tasty candy for all to eat.
But we like to tell all we meet
We know of a gift, twice as sweet.
God gives Jesus, His only Son,
Who came & died for everyone.
You can accept God’s gift today,
When the candy’s gone, Jesus will stay!”
